The neutral shades are certainly out there and make good transitional basics to carry you over from the end of summer to the beginning of autumn. The danger of course is that too many mushroom/beige/greys can all look rather dull and need to be spiced up at this time of the year to add some glamour and colour to the face. With summer tans fading fast, getting the right colours against the face is key to getting you through the cooler months without looking washed out and pasty.
Autumn colours suit really warm skin tones, all those rusts, olive greens, burnt oranges and deeper shades of brown look simply fabulous on girls with a golden skin base with either dark or blonde hair. Brown eyed autumns look particularly good in all the muted greens and browns whilst the green/blue eyed ladies suit the teals and khakis.
As khaki and the military look are so on trend right now, make sure that you team shades of green with a scarf in creams for a more neutral look or orange for a striking appearance. Tone down orange to coral if you have paler warm skin or pastel shades if you have a cool skin tone.
Camel is big big big right now and looks fabulous as a coat or jacket teamed with red for a dynamic look and black or navy for a more classic one.
Lots of ladies were sporting shoe boots in all designs and colours which look particularly good with skinny jeans and over the knee skirts too – make sure you nip in your waist over a jacket or jumper this season to show off your shape and keep those colours against your face with all important accessories.
Getting cream against the face is much much kinder to warm skins that white, so make sure you buy your all important Aviator jacket with that in mind and keep your face looking younger and healthier all winter!
