This year the X Factor is more exciting than ever. Seriously talented contestants all vying for centre stage and our votes to win.
How can each one get ahead of their competitors? What tools can they use to really shine in front of the camera? What makes the audience remember each performance? How can the acts stand out and really show their personalities?
The answer is through colour!
Jules Standish, Celebrity Colour Stylist www.colourconsultancy.co.uk takes a look at some of the girls in the competition to see how colour can make a difference to them.
REBECCA
How stunning and sultry is this shy girl. With her lovely golden skin her true colours are strong and earthy, warm and muted, like gold, bronze and olive green. Wearing dark reds and oranges will help give her more confidence. Metallic shades on her skin will make her complexion glow and enhance the richness of her features.
CHER
With such dark, and striking looks this girl has a unique and individual quality about her that radiates on stage. Cher needs to wear strong, jewel colours to really bring out her dynamic features and to help give her physical strength. Bright blue will calm her nerves whilst purple is rejuvenating and fuchsia pink is for self love.
KATIE
Katie has a beautiful voice, but is vulnerable and needs to believe in herself more. On stage blocks of pastel, neutral shades wash her out and potentially make her invisible. There is determination behind her nerves that needs to show in her personality through her colours. Dove grey, aqua blue and coral pink would compliment her peaches and cream complexion.
MARY
Mary has an amazingly powerful voice and personality. When she wears black, whilst not the most flattering colour for her as it can be ageing, there is no distraction from her incredible singing. Her true colours are strong and warm. Lovely reds and teals combined with browns would be better than black.
TREYC
This girl has smouldering dark looks with a dynamic presence. She needs to shine in bright warm colours, enhancing her powerful performances and helping overcome her lack of confidence. Yellows and golds look fabulous on her, whilst turquoise is great for communication, and bright emerald green will help to keep her in balance.
A quick look at the JUDGES!!
Dannii has stunning clear blue eyes and chestnut hair, and needs the clear warm colours of blue and green to bring out her features. Wearing soft grey does nothing positive for her skin, particularly combined with grey eye make up – this lady needs proper colour!
Cheryl is so naturally beautiful she doesn’t need to mess with her colours; red hair only truly suits ladies born with genetic red colouring, which compliments their skin tone. Cheryl should keep to chocolate brown, which warms up her complexion and highlights her beauty.
Simon should keep with the darker, cooler colours that suit his powerful and perfectionist personality. Louis looks great in all the softer shades of greys and blues.
Discovering ones true colours can be transformational. They have the power to make everyone look more attractive, younger, healthier and full of confidence.
