Jules Standish

Jules Standish is The Colour Counsellor: a personal colour & style expert passionate about getting women into their true colours to look younger and healthier in an instant! Her new book, How Not to Wear Black and discover your true colours launches in September this year, published by O Books. Jules puts forward a new approach to looking younger, healthier and happier through colour and style analysis, achieving powerful results.

This book will challenge everyone's perception of what black does to the complexion and how wearing it against the face can be very damaging to the wrong skin tone.

This is the first self-help book for women of its kind: a book that looks at the psychology behind why women wear so much black.

Jules helps people discover their true potential by unlocking the colour secrets held in their eyes and then matches personality types to their true colours. Jules has worked with the Colourflair system of image–consultancy, since qualifying in 2005 and began teaching it in 2008.The system focuses on genetics and personality, placing the skin at the centre of the analysis.

Jules looks at facial skin as closely as a cosmetic surgeon might do when deciding how to improve a client's appearance. Choosing the correct colours for the skin tone can be instantly de-ageing and often has the transformational effect as a surgical face lift or other anti-ageing procedure! She aims to concentrate on ensuring that complexion and features look as attractive as possible.

Jules works with a wide range of individuals from celebrities to housewives. She also puts together and presents talks for charities and organisations, and has raised over £15,000 for the Liver Disease Foundation for hosting a Ten Years Younger make over event. She regularly presents on colour and style to hundreds of women of all ages including the Boutique Brunch Fashion Event at Goodwood, with her evening colour events at Champneys proving so popular that she will be hosting many more in 2011.

Jules also educates people on the effects of black in the ageing process. Her new book How Not to Wear Black is a self help guide for women (and men) to find out whether they can wear black without ageing themselves dramatically. This is a controversial subject in the world of fashion, as most women covet their LBD.

Jules is also a freelance journalist and has written many articles for the media. She is a regular blogger on Diana Moran's (The Green Goddess) website and the new blogging online magazine Wowdewow! Media coverage on her work has also appeared in The Daily Mail; The Telegraph; The Guardian; Top Sante Magazine; Prim; Slimming Magazine and Practical Parenting.
